Want to be a walking canvas ? We've scoured the net looking for art fancies you will adore - achieve a distinct pro-fashionable look bound to turn heads and be the subject of great conversation. While incorporating art into your wardrobe bare in mind that less (accessories) is more so you do not want to distract your statement pieces from stealing the night.
Popular 80's street artist, Keith Haring took New York City by storm with his infamous subway drawings. Dedicated to creating public art that would reach mass appeal Haring was widely known for creating art that evoked social change like the 1986 NYC 'CRACK IS WACK' mural. In 1986 Haring was diagnosed with AIDS and in 1989 Haring created the Keith Haring Foundation in an effort to provide funding to various AIDS foundations through exhibitions and the sales of his art work. In his ladder years, Haring devoted his time to spreading AIDS awareness. A popular art staple in American culture Keith Haring products are sold at Patricia Fields and through the K.Haring Pop Shop. These cutsie Keith Haring clutches are available exclusively at Patricia Fields !
Make Neck with Art Strong neck pieces that contain great artistry is a must have. This hot number was found on Etsy, where independent clothing, accessory, and trinket designers resort to sell their cherished designs. Designed by Giia who expresses a geometric and architectural aesthetic with a free style form, her pieces range from $60 - $200 and believe when I tell you - each piece is worth every cent. Take a look : Giia on Etsy.
Dee and Ricky Accessories I've always equated the creation of ANYTHING with legos to be a special art. Fashion knows Dee and Ricky best for their 2008 collaboration with Marc Jacobs spring runway show. Their lego belts and headbands were like the must have of the Spring 08 season. For the rest of the world you've probably seen Kanye sporting a big red heart pin after the release of 808 Heart Break. Nonetheless, Dee and Ricky aren't given as much credit as they should be given for their cute collectable lego pieces. With bow ties clips, headbands, belt clips, brooches, and such - Dee and Ricky's accessories has contributed pop art to fashion and as an artistic expressions of fashion I believe their pieces are classic and an absolute must have. Prices range from $50 to $125. Take a look : Dee and Ricky .
Architecturally Bound The mix of art and footwear can sometimes go wrong case in point with Victoria Beckham lol -
but when done RIGHT mixing art with footwear can be the most powerful fashion statement - ready to wear! Jeffrey Campbell shoes are becoming my fave - because he has a knack for producing footwear with great architectural structure - presenting daring footwear just about anyone with confidence can pull off. You can catch these baby's at Sole Struck for $179.
